Starting a new business? We set it up the right way from day one.

A strong start saves cleanup later. We guide you through each step of setting up your business and build an organized, connected back office from the beginning. These are the same foundations Rob has been putting in place for his own business:

After setup, your assistants keep it running

Once your systems are in place, your assistants handle the routine work automatically:

You stay in control. Nothing goes out under your name without your approval.

We help you set things up. We don't give legal or tax advice, and we don't replace a lawyer or CPA.

Already up and running?

We keep the tools that already work for you and add the missing pieces: a business phone, scheduling, follow-ups and reminders. Moving existing systems over to new ones is a separate cleanup project. Either way, we start with a quick review of what you already use.

You didn't start making things to answer email at 10 p.m.

A collector asks about a commission while your hands are in clay. A school wants to book a class visit. A gallery still owes you for last month. Receipts pile up for tax time, and the call-for-entry deadline slips by.

You're not alone. In one national survey, artists said about a quarter of their working week goes to admin, around 12 hours (Anonymous Was A Woman, 2025). More than half of small businesses have invoices more than 30 days overdue (QuickBooks, 2026). And people who reach out don't wait: businesses that reply within an hour are nearly 7× more likely to have a real conversation with the lead than those that wait even an hour longer (Harvard Business Review).

What we take off your plate

Every task runs in your accounts, and anything that goes out under your name waits for your OK.

Inquiries & calls

Every email, form and voicemail gets a quick, friendly reply and lands on one list, so no commission request goes cold.

Scheduling

Studio visits, commissions, classes and jobs booked onto your calendar, plus reminders for shows, markets and call-for-entry deadlines.

Getting paid

Invoices sent on time, polite payment reminders, and a clear list of who still owes you.

Bookkeeping

Income and expenses recorded, sales tracked across studio, shows, galleries and online, sales-tax reminders, and a tidy year-end package for your accountant.

Customer & collector list

Contacts kept up to date, thank-you notes and newsletters drafted for your approval.

Marketing

Social post drafts made from your own photos, in your voice, ready for you to approve.

We don't replace your accountant or do your taxes. We hand them clean books.

What it's worth

How it works

  1. A studio chat

Free, about 20 minutes. Tell us what eats your time and what you already use: Square, Etsy, QuickBooks, a paper calendar, whatever it is.

  2. We set it up in your name

About three weeks. Your books, calendar, customer list and inbox rules, all in accounts you own — you own everything. We test every task with you before anything goes live.

  3. You make; we keep it running

You approve drafts before anything goes out. We watch the first week daily, then check in monthly and fix anything that breaks.

Setup typically takes about three weeks of calendar time.

Built for people who make things

A week with More Time to Craft ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE — NOT A REAL CLIENT

Maya throws pots in a RAD studio. On Monday a collector emails about a custom dinner set while she's at the wheel. Soon after, they get a warm reply with her commission questions, and a studio visit is booked on her calendar for Thursday. Tuesday's market sales from Square are already in her books. A gallery invoice that's 30 days late gets a polite reminder, which she approves with one tap. Friday, three Instagram drafts made from her own glaze photos are waiting for her OK. Her evenings stay hers.

Questions

Is this a robot?

No, it's Rob, with good tools. I set up and oversee everything myself. Behind the scenes I use modern software, including automated assistants, to draft replies, sort receipts and keep your calendar straight. That's how I can respond quickly and keep the price reasonable. But a real person (me) sets the rules, checks the work, and is the one you call. Nothing goes out to your customers or collectors without your OK. You can always see exactly what was sent and why.

Will my customers know I'm getting help?

Replies go out in your name and your voice, and only after you approve them.

Do I have to change my tools?

Usually not. We work with what you have, like Square, Etsy, Shopify, QuickBooks, Wave or a Google calendar, and only suggest changes if they'll save you real time.

Who owns my data? Is it safe?

You do. Everything lives in accounts in your name. If you leave, you keep everything we set up. Read our privacy policy.

Do you replace my accountant or do my taxes?

No. We keep clean books and send your accountant a tidy year-end package.

I'm not an artist. I'm a woodworker, electrician or small shop. Is this for me?

Yes. If you'd rather be doing the work than the paperwork, let's talk.

About Rob

I'm Rob Schwartz, and I live here in Asheville. I have a degree in accounting and more than 15 years as an IT systems engineer. Most recently I've been building secure systems, keeping their documentation in order, and setting up access controls for a large company, including the systems its finance team runs on. Now I bring that same care to small businesses. I set up the tools that keep your books, calendar and follow-ups running, I keep your information safe, and I write everything down so you're never left guessing. You get more time for the work you love.
