For carpenters, plumbers, electricians, concrete workers, furniture makers & builders

Your skills built that job. Ready to build your own business?

You do the work. Now it can be your business too.

If you've ever looked at what your company charges for your work and wondered why you see so little of it, you're not alone. Going out on your own is doable, and the paperwork doesn't have to stop you. We build your business system for you, in your own accounts, and hand it off. It runs itself, it's yours, and you focus on the trade.

Let's talk it through Get the free checklist

Your work already carries your name.

Every job you finish has your skill in it, even when someone else's name is on the invoice. Your customers are paying for that skill, and for a back office you've never owned: the estimates, invoices, scheduling, books, phones and follow-up.

Going out on your own means the craft and the business finally belong to the same person. That back office is what holds most people back, so we build it for you, in your own accounts, and hand it off. It runs itself, it's yours, and you get to build something that's truly your own, for you and for the customers who count on your work.

What we build for you

Everything is set up in your name and your accounts. Once it's built, it runs itself, you have the final say on everything, and it's all yours.

Getting set up

We walk through registering your business and filing a business name (DBA) with you, and help you find the right official forms, offices, and pros.

Business bank account

We help you get a business bank account opened in your name, so job money stays separate from day one.

Estimates & invoices

Clean, professional estimates and invoices you can send from your phone, with reminders when a customer hasn't paid.

Bookkeeping

Income and expenses tracked as you go, so tax time is a tidy package for your accountant instead of a shoebox.

Job scheduling

A calendar for jobs, estimates and site visits, with reminders for you and your customers.

Business phone line

One business number for calls, voicemail and texts, kept separate from your personal phone, with written notes of every message.

Customer follow-up

Every lead lands on one list, quotes get a friendly follow-up, and happy customers get an easy way to leave a review.

Your first 30 days

  1. A straight-talk call

Free, about 20 minutes. Tell us your trade, where you are now, and what's holding you back.

  2. Your setup plan

We map out the system that fits your work, and for the legal, tax and licensing pieces we walk through them with you and help you find the right pros.

  3. We build your system

Bank account, phone line, estimates, invoices, books, scheduling and follow-up, built in your name and handed off to you.

  4. We hand it over

We test everything with you and show you how it works. You're the boss from here, and support is there if you want it.

Questions

Do I need a license?

It depends on your trade and the work you do. We walk through it with you and help you find the right board. In North Carolina, that's usually the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors, the NC State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors, or the NC State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating & Fire Sprinkler Contractors. They make the final call, not us.

What about a non-compete?

It's worth a look before you make the move. We'll flag it on your setup plan and help you find an attorney to review it, and have your questions ready for them.

Who owns the business and the system?

You do, from day one. Every account is in your name, and everything we build is yours to keep.

Will I depend on you?

No. We build it, hand it over, and it runs on its own. If you ever want help with it, we're here, but you never have to.

We don't give legal, tax, or licensing advice. We'll help you connect with an attorney, CPA, or your state licensing board for those.
